What are some of the Very Early Pregnancy Signs?

Sometimes, very early pregnancy signs can be misleading. They can be mysteriously similar to PMS, believe it or not.

When we were trying to get pregnant with Hana, I noticed at one point that I had slight cramps and a bit of spotting and I thought for sure I was not pregnant. I was so unaware of the very early pregnancy signs, that we went to a party and I had two glasses of wine! Imagine how guilty I felt later...

One week went by, and I still had the cramps and sore breasts and spotting, but no period.

Finally James said, "OK, you're moping around.... Let's just get a pregnancy test and take it." And I thought, "Well, I'm sure I'm not, but ok..." And lo and behold, it was positive! We had been trying for eight months so we were elated!

So keep in mind that the normal symptoms of PMS, such as sore breasts, cramps and spotting, can also be signs of pregnancy.

When you are trying to get pregnant, act like you already are pregnant. Always take your folic acid, and do not drink alcohol. And see your doctor when your test comes back positive.
