Newborn Gifts

When I was pregnant, people always asked, "What do you guys need?" And since it was our first child, how was I supposed to know what the best newborn gifts were? I wish I had asked for baby gift baskets, but I didn't really know what to say, plus I felt weird asking for expensive things! For the basics on what you need, see the Checklist for Baby, on the left.

Why not buy a copy of my e-Book for your friend who is expecting her first baby? It is 74 pages long and took me one year to write it. It covers everything you need to know from the moment you bring your baby home from the hospital. It's a must-have and a steal at only $19.95! But what about those great baby gifts you see at baby showers? The ones that you never seem to buy for yourself? Your friends and family don't really want to buy you the usual, run-of-the-mill things -- they want their gift to shine!

Here is information on the best baby gifts, including baby gift baskets, baby toys, and lots of ideas for newborn gifts in general. You can register for gifts at your local department store. Don't worry, no one will think you're greedy ;-) Your friends and family sincerely want to buy something for you that you will like!

Baby Gift Baskets:
Aaron's Baby Baskets for Beautiful Babies

You have two choices: You can make one yourself, or you can order one online. I personally recommend Aaron's Baby Baskets; their website is very classy and I would be thrilled to receive such a beautiful gift.

Making one yourself is probably doable -- in my case it just depends if I can get two seconds to myself without the kids to actually put it together. ;-)

You could do a theme-related one, such as Bath Time, and use a baby tub for the basket and fill it with bath toys, baby soap, shampoo, a hooded towel, etc. Or you could do a Nighttime theme, and put a sleeper, some books, a nightlight, a blankie...

The possibilities are endless!

If you don't have the time to make one yourself, I recommend this site: www.gotobaby.com. Their baby gift baskets are beautiful and their customer service is excellent.

On the other hand, if you want to design it yourself and have someone else do the work, check out: www.designityourselfgiftbaskets.com. Their concept is pretty neat - you choose the basket, the stuffers, and they put it all togehter and ship it.

The best newborn gifts are either very unique, they come from the heart, or they are ultra luxury.

But you don't have to spend a lot of money on a baby gift. One of my friends made my daughter a blanket out of one metre of fleece fabric, and then she just snipped the edges into a fringe and - presto! - my daughter's favourite blanket was born. (Thank you Auntie Hezzie).

You could also give a Luxury Gift, such as a sterling silver rattle or silver spoon. You can see some of the Best Selling Baby Gifts here.

Personalised baby gifts are also very popular right now because they are classy and timeless. Check out this link to Personalised New Baby Gifts.
